We carry a 43" oval coffee table that features a glass top. The table is also made from aluminum and vinyl wicker. You can decide whether you'd prefer the Caramel or Bisque wicker for the table.

What's the Lloyd Loom Process?

Marshall Lloyd, the founder of the Lloyd Manufacturing Company, developed the Lloyd Loom process in 1916. It was patented in 1917. 

The original process involved twisting paper both without and with a wire core. The idea was considered innovative. That's because it combined the benefits of rattan and wicker with a modern touch. 

The process evolved to produce a continuous cellulose strand that would peel or crack, creating a smooth weave. Each strand of twisted fibers was submerged in glue so it wouldn't unravel. The strands then get reinforced with aluminum wire for added resiliency. 

Once the weaving process is complete, the wicker gets put into a resin emulsion. The warm resin creates a coating over the wicker, increasing its durability.
